More popularly known as Captain America, Massachusetts-born Chris Evans is a well-known Hollywood figure, especially revered by Marvel comics fans. The blue-eyed American actor, started his career in 2000, featuring in the TV series Opposite Sex. Well, who wouldn’t want a perfect score on their SAT? That is exactly what six school students also aspire and their aim leads them to plan a break-in on the Princeton Testing Center.
This comedy venture is directed by Brian Robbins and conveys a good message in the guise of comedy that grades and SAT scores do not ensure happiness.
One of the six students is played by a young Chris Evans named Kyle. Starring along with him as another student is another big movie industry icon, Scarlett Johansson, who plays the role of Francesca Curtis.
14. Playing it Cool (2014)
This romantic comedy has a unique plot. Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair’s (Screenplay writers) idea of a rom-com is about a scriptwriter, who struggles to write a romantic script.
Adversely affected by his mother leaving him at a very young age, Chris Evans, (who narrates the story) finds it hard to settle into a stable romantic relationship.
At first, he looks to others’ experiences of love to inspire his script but that doesn’t work too well either. When things seem murky, he finds a woman he connects perfectly with.
He might even have found someone to serve a purpose greater than the script. But there is a catch, she is already engaged. This character who wins Chris Evans’ heart is played by the beautiful Michelle Monaghan.
13. Not Another Teen Movie (2001)
Not Another Teen Movie is another teen movie directed by Joel Gallen. Chris Evans takes the lead role in this comic venture, playing a character named Jake Wyler. With his macho feel and popularity, he takes up the challenge of transforming a not-so-pretty girl, Janey (Chyler Leigh) into the prom queen.
Like all chick flicks, it features a range of generic characters. Jake’s evil sister who is a cheerleader creates hurdles in his challenge and wants him to lose, a foreign student, a virgin student, and a seemingly perfect girl. This chick flick plays for 90 minutes and makes for a good laugh as a light movie.

This R-rated romantic comedy directed by Mark Mylod is based on a novel by American author Karyn Bosnak. Sometimes what you read hits you. This happens to Ally Darling when she reads an article that claims that women who have been in more than 20 relationships are almost sure not to find a husband.
Desperate to prove it wrong, she starts the daunting task of revisiting her old boyfriends to see who might click as the right one. Helping her in her mission is her neighbor and a womanizer named Colin Shea, a character played well by Chris Evans.
11. Sunshine (2007)
We conveniently believe that the sun is an everlasting source of energy, providing us with light heat, and more necessary for living beings. Well, writer Alex Garland disagrees. In this futuristic scientific adventure, he tells a story of Mother Earth’s sun dying and a desperate, last-ditch effort by an international team of astronauts to save it.
How do you save the sun by the way? Here comes in use the large stock of nukes. The plan is to reignite the sun with a nuclear fission bomb. With more plot twists to keep the viewers firmly glued to the screens, director Danny Boyle’s thriller is highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike. The famous Chris Evans plays one of the astronauts, Mace, who is on the save-the-sun space mission.
10. The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (2008)
The revered playwright who is remembered for his brilliant stage classics wrote the script for this movie in the 1950s. However, the script never made it to the production stage. Long after his death, director Jodie Markell takes up the project, a silent tribute to Tennessee.
The story is set a century back, in the 1920s, and centers around the daughter of a plantation owner named Fisher Willow. Not liked by most, she is crude and insulting but surprisingly falls for a guy working at her father’s plantation (Chris Evans).
The young handsome but poor boy must be passed off as having a rich lineage for Fisher Willow’s aunt to accept him, who acts as the family head. Trouble arrives for them when a diamond goes missing and her aunt is not pleased.
9. Before We Go (2014)
In one of his recent movies, Chris Evans stars alongside Alice Eve in a rom-com directed by himself. The two meet at a train terminal in New York when Brooke (Alice Eve) has missed her train to Boston and Nick (Chris Evans).
A street musician, being the nice guy tries to help her reach home to her husband. They grow close on their journey and love sparks between the two but they have many hurdles to cross.
8. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
Based on Marvel Mangaverse, this is the second installment in the series which shows four young scientists with superhuman powers. Chris Evans stars as the ‘Human Torch’, named Johnny Storm, who has the power to control fire and can fly.
This time, the Fantastic Four face an intergalactic planet-eating enemy by the name of Galactus. It sends a powerful silver surfer to destroy Earth while Van Doom, the old arch-enemy of the Fantastic Four makes a reappearance.
The quartet uses its superpowers which include Susan Storm’s (Jessica Alba) stunning looks, to which the Surfer seems to have a liking, to listen to sense, and finally help them.
7. The Losers (2010)
Directed by Sylvain White, this crime thriller features Chris Evans and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as part of the special operatives team that is betrayed by someone named Max and left for dead in a Bolivian jungle.
But even these five highly skilled men need a beautiful woman who comes in the form of Aisha (Zoe Saldana, the actress from Avatar) to guide them out of Bolivia and exact their revenge on Max, who has been developing green weapons of mass destruction, that causes no pollution when used.
6. Cellular (2004)
Cellular is another crime-action movie written by Larry Cohen, the scriptwriter for Phone Booth. The story is compelling and involves a lot of action, car chases on freeways, stealing cars, and more. It feels weird to see Jason Statham not kicking bad guys and instead of playing as the head of the bad guys, the kidnappers, but he does his part well.
A young man named Ryan, played by Chris Evans, gets a call from a woman who claims to have been kidnapped and her husband and child are next on the list. After a while, Ryan starts taking her seriously and convinces a cop, played by William Macy to join his cause.
5. Puncture (2011)
Directed by the Kassen brothers, Mark and Adam, and written by Paula Danziger, this drama genre flick takes a swing at the stronghold of medical unions, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies who ensure that no breakthrough that is a challenge to their high profits make it to the market.
Chris Evans and Mark Kassen play two idealistic lawyers named Mike Weiss, a drug addict, and Paul Danziger respectively. A nurse, who had contracted AIDS from a needle from her patient comes to them to tell about the invention of a retractable safety needle, by an engineer, that no hospital will use. Both lawyers take up the case but watch in dismay as all doors on them slowly close.
4. The Iceman (2012)
Set in the 1960s, this is a biopic directed by Ariel Vromen. Based on the life of Richard Kuklinski, shows how he initially worked as an adult movie distributor and was then recruited as a hired gun. The cold-blooded contract killer has a reputation for being highly unsympathetic and professional in his duty.
He is married and has children, who have no clue about his profession as Richard has kept his family life and profession strictly apart.
Trouble arrives when Richard starts working for another boss, a violence-loving maniac who goes by the title of Mr. Freezy (played by Chris Evans). Finding it hard to keep things hidden anymore, Richard is eventually caught by the authorities.
3. The Avengers (2012)
This is every Marvel comic fan’s dream to see Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and everyone’s favorite the Ironman (Robert Downey Jr.), all in one movie.
This sci-fi action thriller is written and directed by Joss Whedon. The plot is simple Thor’s brother Loki has got hold of the cube of energy, called Tesseract, and intends to open the gateway to his universe and destroy Earth.
The superheroes all assemble under the command of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who heads S.H.I.E.L.D. The prospect of watching all of these superheroes team up against a mutual enemy drove fans to the cinema like crazy and the movie made a whopping $1.52 billion at the box office! The movie was also nominated for an Oscar in Best Achievement in the Visual Effects category.
2. Snowpiercer (2013)
This critically acclaimed sci-fi action movie is written and directed by the South Korean Joon Ho Bong. Starring Chris Evans in the lead as Curtis, the movie is set shortly when humankind makes its final try to end global warming only to see it backfire and send Earth back to an ice age.
A super train built by a billionaire, Wilford (Ed Harris), which travels globally and is not affected by the weather outside has the only survivors on board.
As everywhere in the world, the train compartments are set by classes the rich near the head and all the poor cramped in the later compartments.
A revolt is planned and Curtis takes the lead, helped along by an engineer who helped design the train and a few others. The movie has commendable visuals, a good story, and dark humor that makes you realize the desperateness of the situation.
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Waking up to the modern world after WWII heroics, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) a.k.a. Captain America finds it hard to adjust. However soon, he faces a new enemy by the name of Winter Soldier who kills Nick Fury, head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not only is Nick dead, but S.H.I.E.L.D. has also been taken over by enemies who brand Captain America as a traitor.
With only the Black Widow as his loyal aide, he must get to the bottom of this mess and face off with the winter soldier. With $714 million at the box office, an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Visual Effects, and almost perfect scores by all critics, The Winter Soldier makes the best movie of Chris Evans’ career.
