15 Worst Movies Of 2022

7. Ticket To Paradise

We’ve always thought it’s a money move to put George Clooney and Julia Roberts on the big screen. However, it’s not 2001 anymore, and the Oceans series is long dead. Ticket to Paradise proves that point emphatically.

A majority of the audience didn’t even know about this film – but you can call that a marketing failure. Despite having two of the most prolific actors in history, this film just relies on the beaten-to-death idea of rekindling old flames.

6. Don’t Worry, Darling

You know a film is downright bad when a film’s press and promotional interview has more clout than the movie. Don’t Worry Darling seemed as if the filmmakers had put more thought into marketing and pressers than the actual movie.

It was apparent as soon as the audiences and critics laid their eyes on the film. Nothing about it made it watch-worthy, including the star cast in Harry Styles, Chris Pine, and Florence Pugh. Needless to say, the story and direction simply went down swinging with this one.

5. Persuasion

Every time Jane Austen’s stories are put on the big screen, we know it’s going to be good cinema. And, at the very least, it’ll be good dialogue. Well, lo and behold, Hollywood continued its disappointing 2022 run in the form of Persuasion.

Despite not being as bad as some of the other names on the list, in no way does this film does justice to Jane Austen’s works. Hence, it’s less than a 31% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Besides Dakota Johnson trying to carry this film all on her own, nothing good came out of it.

4. Black Adam

When the Rock posted on Instagram that the hierarchy of power in DCEU was about to change, people expected a coming-of-age superhero movie that’ll turn the trend upside down. Instead, what we got was another disappointment.

The Rock poured his heart into the role and actively lobbied for years to play this role. However, Hollywood higher-ups are keen on ruining superheroes, comic book stories, and fantasy in general – and this film was another proof of it.

Featuring an amazing cast with great visuals, the story was like a limp fish that even a cat wouldn’t want. In other words, the Rock and other cast members are the only reason many people sat through this one.

3. Blonde

Blonde was one of the most anticipated films of the year. Simply because it told the story of one of the most iconic stars in all of Hollywood’s history, Marilyn Monroe. Even though we’ve seen the story told in documentaries and other forms before, it didn’t take away from the expectations of this movie.

However, when it was finally released, the only thing that stood out was Ana de Armas’ portrayal of the iconic singer/actress. By the time a couple of weeks had passed, everything about the movie had died down, including its hype.

2. Morbius

Morbius was one of the most awaited movies of the year. While it didn’t have a direct affair with MCU or its Spiderman – people were hoping it would be a success enough to make its way towards that. Jared Leto and Matt Smith – those names were enough to draw people toward it.

However, what the film delivered was an absolute shambles. Not only did it totally butcher its expectations, but it also became one of the biggest memes of the year—and that should tell you all you need to know about it.

1. Jurassic World: Dominion

Jurassic World: Dominion was perhaps the most anticipated movie of the year. People of all ages and generations held their breath for this one, as it promised an epic conclusion to the Jurassic Park/World Saga.

Besides that, the prospect of dinosaurs living alongside humans made people wait on the edge of their seats for over 4 years – since the release of Fallen Kingdom. But, what we got instead was a film that rarely felt like a Jurassic World/Park movie.

If it wasn’t for Chris Pratt, Sam Neil, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, this film felt like another B-rated dino-flick that usually ends up on the straight-to-DVD aisle. And the underwhelming presence of dinosaurs didn’t help either making it the biggest disappointment of the year 2022.
