The movies coming out in 2026 will leave you in awe, give you goosebumps, and have you in fits of laughter, most of all, offering the best that cinemas have to offer. Here’s our list of the most anticipated movies of 2026:
15. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
This is a post-virus sequel of the 2025 film from the franchise. It follows Spike as he is inducted into Jimmy Crystal’s gang on the mainland. Meanwhile, Dr. Kelson makes a discovery that has far-reaching consequences and could alter the world.
If you are someone who likes playing games like The Last of Us, you will love this movie. Don’t forget to check out the original 28 Years Later before watching this one. Better yet, watch them back-to-back to get the real feel of the story.
14. Scream 7
Scream has been one of the most loved horror franchises over the past three decades.
The Ghostface killer emerges again. Sydney Prescott has built a new life for herself. But her greatest fear becomes a reality when the Ghostface chooses her daughter to be the next target. This time, she has to face the ghost without the help of the Carpenter sisters.
We also recommend watching the TV series Scream if you are a fan of the movie franchise.
13. The Bride!
Frankenstein has had so many adaptations over the years, but 2026 is coming with something different. In 2026, the story is being brought to life from a female perspective.
In 1930, Frankenstein and Dr. Euphronius experimented to create a companion for Frankenstein. A murdered woman in Chicago is reborn. This not only sparks romance in the story but triggers police scrutiny and ignites a radical social movement.
Have you watched the iconic 2025 adaptation of Frankenstein? It was one of the best adaptations of the classic.
12. Michael
Michael Jackson, if not the most, is definitely one of the most influential people in recent pop culture history.
This movie pays tribute to the King of Pop. From his childhood when he was the star of the Jackson 5, through hard times when his father Joe Jackson abused him, to his hit song ‘Thriller’ and his purchasing Neverland Valley, and finally to his tragic and untimely death in June 2009.
The movie shows some of Michael’s most iconic performances and insights into his personal life.
11. The Devil Wears Prada 2
The Devil Wears Prada is one of the most loved movies in the fashion industry. Meryl Streep, Miranda Priestly, and Andy Sachs hit the big screen again in this second installment of the much-loved 2006 comedy.
The movie is based on the novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, and it is directed by David Frankel. The main cast includes the iconic duo, Meryl Streep and Anna Hathaway, with co-stars Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.
As Miranda nears retirement, she has to compete against her former assistant and now rival executive for advertising revenue while print media is declining.
10. Toy Story 5
Since the first Toy Story movie came out, it has been a favourite among children and adults alike. 2026 comes with the fifth installment in the franchise.
Buzz and Woody are back to face a new challenge — electronic gadgets. Children are replacing toys with gadgets. What used to be playtime has become screentime. There is not much detail available at the moment, but the movie is directed by the same director who directed Wall-E and Finding Nemo — Andrew Stanton. We are expecting most of the voice artists, like Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, to return for this movie.
We always love a Toy Story, and this one is one of our most anticipated movies of 2026.
9. The Odyssey
Homer’s Odyssey is one of the most well-known pieces of literature, and it is not an easy task to do justice to it when adapting it for the screen. Christopher Nolan takes on this job after a successful project like Oppenheimer.
The story follows Odysseus after the Trojan War. The movie is packed with movie stars like Matt Damon, Robert Pattison, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, and Charlize Theron.
If you are a bookworm and not into movies, we highly recommend watching this movie. It will change your mind about cinema.
8. Thread: An Insidious Tale
Insidious is one of those horror movies that you can not forget, even if you wanted to. The franchise is so famous that the last Insidious movie grossed $189 million worldwide at the box office. That was to happen considering the cult following the movie franchise has. We might see something similar for the sixth installment in 2026.
The movie follows a couple who do a spell to travel back in time to save their daughter from her tragic death. You’ll be clenching the armrests and jumping out of your chairs in the cinema.
7. Clayface
After appearing in the Harley Quinn and Creature Commandos series, Clayface finally got his own movie. The movie is directed by James Watkins and produced by Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris.
The plot follows a shape-shifting creature made of magical clay that haunts the city of Gotham. The creature shifts between villain and an ally of Batman.
Any movie with Gotham City in it intrigues us, and this one is definitely on our watch list.
6. The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender

The Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming in 2026 with a new animated film with our favourite characters, Toph, Sokka, Katara, and Zuko.
Avatar Aang, the world’s last Airbender, tries to discover an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. But evil forces are also on the hunt for the ancient secret.
If you haven’t watched any of the Avatar: The Last Airbender movies, you are missing out big time.
5. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
The Hunger Games has been one of the most popular book and movie franchises in recent times.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is set 24 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered herself to participate in the Hunger Games. Haymitch Abernathy became the second victor from District 12 when he won the 50th Hunger Games.
This film shows the time between The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and the first Hunger Games. It follows a young Haymitch as he makes his way to victory in the Hunger Games with sequences of the aftermath of the murder of his family by President Snow.
Do you think the prequel will reach the same level of audience appreciation as the original franchise? We are always team OG, but we think it will not disappoint us and will probably be one of the most talked-about movies of the year.
4. Jumanji 3
Jumanji has been a favourite among children and adults alike since the first movie came out in 1995. This is a sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level and continues the video game story with the same cast — Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, and Karen Gillan.
The movie is directed by Jake Kasdan, but there is not a lot of information about the plot. Jumanji was one of the movies that made us think larger than life as children, and it will always be close to our hearts.
3. Avengers: Doomsday
The MCU is trying to win back its old glory with Avengers: Doomsday in 2026. The Russo brothers are directing the fight between the mighty Avengers and the villain, played by former Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. There are no details about the plot, as it is under wraps. We are looking forward to where the storyline goes with this movie and the Avengers: Secret Wars.
Many people are looking forward to the Avengers comeback, but we think the franchise’s glory days are gone. What do you think?
2. Dune: Part Three
Dune became the talk of Hollywood town when it came out back in 2021. Now, 2026 brings Dune: Part Three, which follows the Chosen One Paul Atreides as the Padishah Emperor. This story is set 12 years after Dune. While the cast has not been confirmed, there are speculations that the former main cast will be reassigned.
If you’re from the ‘book was better than the movie’ club and still haven’t read Dune: Part Three, we recommend watching the movie first this time.
1. Street Fighter
With a decent cast (Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes, Vidyut Jammwal, David Dastmalchian, etc.) and budget, the Street Fighter reboot will hit theaters in 2026.
Kitao Sakurai, famous for directing the Twisted Metal series, will be in the director’s chair, and as a result, the hype is real.
