The excitement surrounding the beloved team of Avengers largely grew once it was confirmed that Spiderman will indeed be featured in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 which is aimed to be released on May 4, 2018.

Due to a collaborative agreement between Sony and Marvel Studios, the very thought of Spiderman becoming a permanent part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has opened many doors of opportunities for both parties.

7. Suicide Squad (2016)

When a few infamous villains from Batman’s infamous rogues’ gallery team up, nothing but chaos is bound to happen. Anticipation is high due to the solid cast involving Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Cortney, etc.

Above everything, the movie will also feature none other than the Joker portrayed by the 2013 Academy Award winner for Supporting Actor and the lead vocalist of 30 Second to Mars, Jared Leto.

6. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

The X-Men film series was on the verge of losing its mystique – no pun intended – but due to Bryan Singer taking back his throne as the director, the franchise was saved by the masterpiece, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Releasing on May 27, 2016, the eighth installment X-Men: Apocalypse will be focusing on the origins of mutants and star James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as friends-turned-rivals Professor X and Magneto, respectively.

5. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017)

Admitted that their comic books had never been a financial success as compared to the revered X-Men or Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy was able to amazingly become the highest-grossing superhero film of 2014.

With Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Dave Bautista returning for the sequel to be released on May 5, 2017, one can only imagine how the dysfunctional team will continue to coexist. It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated upcoming marvel movies of 2017.

4. Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Pride is always on the line when it is a question about leadership and that is what caused the tension between Captain America and Iron Man, the co-leaders of Avengers.

With a release date of May 6, 2016, fans have plenty of time to pick sides as they prepare themselves to watch the epic battle between two of the most esteemed superheroes of Marvel Comics.

3. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Marvel Studios broke dozens of records with the release of the critically acclaimed The Avengers back in 2012. However, as far as a sequel is concerned, the superhero team might face its biggest challenge yet.

When Ultron, a technologically-advanced robot created by Tony Stark, establishes his goal of destroying humanity, Nick Fury is forced to reassemble the Avengers once again to stop it by any means necessary.

2. Deadpool (2016)

Deadpool (2016)

The awful X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a recipe for disaster due to the cliché-ridden script and above all, the mishandling of perhaps the most unusual Marvel Comics character of all time, Wade Wilson aka Deadpool.

The on-screen character was nothing like his comic book counterpart and the fans went nuts. However, when a spin-off film was announced with the promise of staying true to the comic book tone and Ryan Reynolds reprising the role, Deadpool instantly became a highly anticipated movie.

1. Batman vs Super-Man: Dawn of Justice (2016)

The most frequently discussed question that has divided die-hard DC fans for generations will finally be answered in the highly publicized and much-awaited Batman v Super-Man: Dawn of Justice. Though director Zack Snyder has left fans puzzled by his casting choices such as Ben Affleck as Batman and Jesse Eisenberg as LexLuthor, the movie is without a doubt the most anticipated superhero movie in a long while.

With the addition of Victor Stone aka Cyborg, Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, the plot has been suspected to focus on the origins of the DC superhero team Justice League but that is yet to be seen the release date of March 25, 2016.
