We’ve compiled a list of the most anticipated movies of 2025. Some titles might ring a bell because of their prequels while others are fresh out of the oven.
15. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera
The action-heist hit of 2018, Den of Thieves, is coming back to the big screen in 20225. Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are returning in the 2nd installment called Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.
Big Nick is back on the hunt in Europe and closing in on Donnie who is stuck in the harsh and unpredictable world of diamond thieves. The duo plot a massive heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange. But it won’t be easy with the infamous Panther mafia involved.
Let’s see if this sequel does justice to the original movie or lands in our worst movies of the year list.
14. In The Grey

The first trailer of In The Grey was released at CinemaCon and has fans holding their cash in hand for the cinema.
Superman (Henry Cavill) and Donnie Darco (Jake Gyllenhaal) star in this action movie as extraction specialists. Their mission is to extract a senior female negotiator from a high-stakes situation. The movie fills both boxes, brains and, brawn. The trio navigates out of the perilous situation with intense negotiation and action.
With two veteran actors in the front seat, we have high hopes for this one.
13. Captain America: Brave New World
Captain America has become a symbol of heroism in the comic cinema world. The latest installment of the franchise follows Sam Wilson, the new Captain America as he navigates the harsh realities of being a superhero.
Captain America uncovers a wicked plan that will affect the whole world. US President Ross is hit with an assassination attempt as he prepares to sign a new international accord. Wilson is in the line of fire. Now, he must find a way to uncover the conspiracy while struggling to save his friends and potentially the whole world without getting killed in the process.
12. Snow White
Snow White is one of the most loved children’s stories in the world. This new non-animated adaptation of the tale on the blue screen is something all of us are looking forward to in 2025.
Young and beautiful princess Snow White nearly escapes death and flees the castle to get away from her evil stepmother who is jealous of her beauty. She finds shelter in a cottage in the woods where seven dwarves live.
Now she must survive in the jungle as her jealous stepmother’s huntsmen search for her.
11. A Minecraft Movie
Minecraft has become a global phenomenon and it’s finally getting its own movie.
The movie follows four outcasts who accidentally get transported to the interesting world of Minecraft. They must master the art of Minecraft to get back to their real world. Fortunately, they have an unexpected companion, Steve, who helps them successfully manipulate the game.
Movies based on games have had mixed reviews from fans over the years. Let’s see if this movie does justice to the legendary game.
10. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Tom Cruise has done a fantastic job in making the Mission Impossible franchise an unforgettable name in cinema history.
The action-packed sequel follows Ethan Hunt and his team as they put the next gear to the battle against Gabriel and the AI program The Entity. The team’s mission is to destroy ‘The Entity’ which is reportedly stored on a Russian Submarine named Sevastopol.
The movie is a continuation of the events from Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. We suggest you watch that movie first to get a better understanding of what’s going on in this one.
9. Jurassic World Rebirth
The Jurassic franchise has amazed children and adults alike. The latest movie in the franchise is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. In the previous movie, Earth’s ecology confines dinosaurs to equatorial zones.
Zora Bennett is a covert ops expert who leads a team deep into dinosaur habitat to secure genetic material from massive dinosaurs. This material will help develop a life-saving drug.
The film examines the difficulties of humans and dinosaurs coexisting in a bleak future. The characters discover the harsh effects of their actions in the previous movies.
8. Superman
After his successful performance in “Man of Steel,” Henry Cavill is considered the original Superman in the minds of many fans.
Let’s see if David Corenswet will do justice to the beloved comic book superhero in the upcoming 2025 movie.
The story follows Clark Kent (Superman’s alias) who is a cub reporter in the Daily Metropolis as he navigates his way on Earth. The task is heavier than anything he has lifted. The burden of living a dual life on top of being viewed as old-fashioned for being true, compassionate, and just may just be the most difficult task he faces in the movie.
7. The Fantastic Four: First Steps
The Fantastic Four franchise will after 2007 make a comeback with the First Steps in 2025. With a new cast and director let’s see if it can get recognition from critics and audiences that its prequels lacked.
The movie is set in a retro-futuristic world that is in danger because of Galactus and the Silver Surfer. The superhero group must save Earth while upholding their family bond.
We have high hopes that the new movie team will do justice to these amazing Marvel Characters. Let’s see what happens on 25 July 2025 when the movie is released.
6. Avatar: Fire and Ash

This year comes the third entry in James Cameron’s five-movie franchise set in the fictional world of Pandora. We’ve journeyed a long way from Jake Sully and Neytiri’s first encounter in 2009’s Avatar. After 2022’s The Way of Water, we will journey with the Na’vi heroes as they encounter a fire Na’vi tribe known as the Ash People.
When it was released, Avatar became a global phenomenon. It’s a test for James Cameron on 19 December 2025 to uphold the legacy of the franchise.
5. Sinners
From the director of Black Panther and Creed, and starring Michael B. Jordan, Sinners is going to be one of the best movies of 2025.
To leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (both played by Jordan) decide to go back to their roots and start again. They return to their hometown only to find out that even greater evil is waiting for them, where they thought they’d find peace.
4. 28 Years Later
If you’re a post-apocalyptic movie genre fan, this one’s for you.
Nearly three decades after the rage virus outbreak, a group of survivors who took shelter on an isolated island ventured into the quarantine zone of the mainland. There they uncover dangerous secrets and transformations among the infected and the survivors.
Seems like your average post-apocalyptic movie but fans are highly anticipating its release.
3. F1
An F1 movie with Brad Pitt in the cockpit, a definite hit of the year.
Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was a 1990s Formula One Driver who came out of retirement to mentor a young prodigy named Joshua “Noah” Pearce (Damson Idris. Sonny not only teaches him how to drive the beast but also mentors him in navigating the high-stakes world of Formula One Racing.
Lewis Hamilton’s remarkable performances have made F1 more popular than ever before. The excitement for this movie might stem not only from Pitt but also from the audience’s increasing interest in the sport.
2. Ballerina
John Wick is one of our favorite action movie franchises. Keanu Reeves’s action-packed and thrilling performances have paved the way for Ballerina in 2025.
Ballerina is set in the John Wick world in the time between the Franchise’s chapters 3 and 4. Ana De Armas stars as Eve Macarro, a ballerina who begins taking assassin training according to the Ruska Roma tradition to avenge her father’s death. We will also get to see Kanu Reeves in the movie.
We hope this movie doesn’t get the same response She-Hulk got.
1. How To Train Your Dragon
How to Train Your Dragon is a beloved children’s animated movie that is getting a real retake.
When Vikings and dragons on the Isle of Berk are endangered by an ancient threat, a duo takes action to build a new future for both species. The inventive Viking called Hiccup and a Night Fury Dragon called Toothless to go on yet another adventure to save the day.
Though the non-animated feel of the movie changes a lot of things, we hope it doesn’t change our positive feelings about the movie.
