20. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
Part of the still-in-development upcoming Star Wars anthology series, set in between Star Wars Episode 3 and Episode 4, it’s set to be based around a band of rebel fighters, who carry out an important mission to steal the plans for the Death Star from the Empire.
Directed by the director of the recent Godzilla film, Gareth Edwards, this is a movie any Star Wars fan cannot miss out on!
19. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (2016)
The director from the original film has changed to correct some of the problems from the first film and the sequel is being directed by Dave Green.
The addition of Stephen Amell to the cast, as Casy Jones, could bring a positive outcome depending on how the chemistry works on film with the ever-beautiful Megan Fox.
18. Okja (2016)
Not much about this film is known as of yet, aside from the fact it is director Joon-ho Bong’s next feature film starring the charismatic Jake Gyllenhaal.
The lack of information can be deceiving, but one must not let it cloud the judgment of this upcoming sci-fi movie full of quality actors and backroom staff.

16. Passengers (2016)
A passenger on a spacecraft, heading towards a colony on the outskirts of space, is awakened 60 years early from his sleeping chamber due to a malfunction. This provokes him to awaken a second passenger out of fear of growing old alone.
Starring a very exciting cast of Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Sheen, and Lawrence Fishburne, this a must-see for all sci-fi movie lovers.
15. Arrival (2016)
It’s a story about aliens visiting our planet. Our main character, played by Amy Adams, interacts with them to observe vivid flashbacks that lead to her finding out about the true mystery behind their visit.
14. Cell (2016)
This movie stars the veteran actor Samuel L Jackson and the charming John Cusack. The plot focuses on a strange signal being sent through cell phones worldwide that ensues apocalyptic chaos.
Not much is known further about the plot at this point but the film surely features an intriguing recipe for disaster set up for some hopefully engaging storytelling.

Directed by Andrew Goth and stars sort of-forgotten former Jurassic Park actor, Sam Neill. The plot of this film is best described as a sub-atomic fight for the subconscious. So make sure to check out one of the most highly anticipated new upcoming sci-fi movies.
12. The 5th Wave (2016)
With the highly critically acclaimed actress Chloe Grace Moretz, this is a film about survival against the 5th wave of an attack by aliens.
Watch how amidst all this chaos, the main character tries hard to save her younger brother from all the turmoil.
