How To Check Your iPhone's Manufacture Date

If you have an iPhone and you are just too curious to find out the manufacture date of your device, then you have landed at the right place. Checking the manufacturing date of your device is not a big deal. To check the iPhone manufacturing date you just need to know the serial number of your iPhone. Let’s see how to check the serial number of the iPhone first and then how this serial number helps in finding out the manufacture date of the smartphone. Here we share a guide on how to check your iPhone’s manufacture date:

For Older iPhone Models

Step 1

Tap on the “Settings” icon > General > About. Then note the serial number of your device like the screen-shots below:

Step 2

Now you just have to note the 3rd, 4th, and 5th digits of the iPhone’s serial number to know the manufacture date of the iPhone. So in the iPhone screenshot below the 3rd digit ‘0’ shows the manufacturing year ‘2010’ and the 4th-5th digit ’21’ shows the manufacturing week, the 21st week. So the iPhone manufacture date is the 21st week of the year 2010.

Here is another example, if the serial number is xx742xxxxxx then the manufacturing year is 2007 and the 42nd week.

For Newer iPhone Models

If the serial number of your iPhone is a 12-digit alphanumeric string like “DX3RRFFYY88D” then you can find out the manufacturing date of your phone by visiting chipmunk.nl website and entering your serial number.
