Halloween, even with its spookiness, is one of the most awaited times of the year for children. They wear their favorite costumes and get to eat a lot of candy. 15. Corpse Bride (2005)
A dead bride who wants to marry you. Pretty scary, right? That’s what Victor had to go through.
Victor and Victoria’s families have arranged their marriage, and they both like each other. But Victor is nervous, so he practices his lines for the wedding in a forest, but suddenly he is dragged to the land of the dead by a tree branch.
The tree belongs to Emily, a woman who was murdered for eloping with her love. Now, the dead bride wants to marry Victor. But time is running out for him. He needs to get back to the living world before Victoria marries the wicked Barkis Bittern.
14. Frankenweenie (2012)
This is a fresh twist to the classic Frankenstein story. A loner and science nerd, young Victor Frankenstein does have one good friend: his dog, Sparky. But Victor’s world crumbles when Sparky dies.
Victor’s science teacher gives him an idea of how to jolt his beloved friend back to life. Victor prepares for the resurrection, and the experiment is a success. Victor is rejoiced. But that doesn’t last long because his school fellows steal his secret and use it to resurrect their dead pets. The consequences are monstrous.
13. ParaNorman (2012)
‘’With great power comes great responsibility.’’
Norman Babcock is a young boy with the paranormal ability to speak to the dead. He enjoys the company of the dead more than that of the living.
The boy receives word from his dead uncle, Prenderghast, that a centuries-old witch’s curse on their town is real and that the time of its fulfillment is near. He tells him that only he can save the town.
When zombies rise from the graves, it’s up to Norman to summon all his courage and willpower to tap into the potential of his paranormal abilities to save the townspeople.
12. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998)
Scooby-Doo is one of the most beloved children’s characters and franchises. This 1998 movie follows Scooby and the gang as they reunite to investigate new mysteries and adventures.
They end up on an island that is populated by an undead pirate and his zombie crew.

11. The Boxtrolls (2014)

Eggs decides to go above ground to try and save his friends. There he meets and befriends Winnifred. Together, they devise a plan to stop Archibald and save the Boxtrolls.
10. The Book of Life (2014)
Three childhood friends from San Angel, Mexico, take different paths as they grow up. Maria is sent to Europe, Manolo studies to become a bullfighter, and Joaquin joins the military. But one thing remains the same. Both men want to marry Maria.
Little do the trio know that two husband-wife deities have placed a high-stakes bet on whether Joaquin or Manolo will marry Maria.
The two friends are fighting battles on two fronts. They are trying to win Maria’s love while also fighting to save their town from a gang of menacing bandits.
9. Monster House (2006)
Three children believe that one of the houses in the neighborhood is a living and breathing creature that is out to get children. But no adults believe in their ‘stories’. As Halloween is approaching, the trio needs to find a way to destroy the house before innocent trick-or-treaters end up in its belly.
A great animated movie that teaches service over self and bravery.
8. The House (2022)
In our opinion, this movie is a masterpiece. It follows three different stories set inside the same house. The movie portrays themes of madness, wealth, and the pursuit of true happiness.
There are many moral takeaways from the movie—a perfect movie to watch with your kids on Halloween night.
7. Coco (2017)
Young Miguel dreams of pursuing a career in music and becoming successful like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. But his family has a generations-old ban on music. His passion to prove his talent lands him in the Land of the Dead.
In the Land of the Dead, he meets and befriends a charming trickster named Héctor. The two of them embark on an adventurous journey to find out the secrets of Miguel’s family history.
This movie has great visuals and a nicely written storyline. It’s worth a family movie night.
6. A Christmas Carol (2009)
This movie is based on one of the most popular and widely read children’s books by Charles Dickens.
As London prepares for the joys of Christmas, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge thinks it’s all useless and deceptive. He scolds his faithful clerk and cheerful nephew about their optimistic views.
Later, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns him that three spirits will visit him on the night before Christmas. The three ghosts of the past, present, and future take him on journeys through his life. So will the journey transform the bitter Scrooge into a better person?
5. The Addams Family (2019)
The Addams Family is a cult classic with some of the most nostalgic characters in children’s entertainment history. The characters have made appearances in many movies and TV series, the latest being the viral Wednesday TV series.
The spooky Addams family is preparing for a visit from their even creepier relatives. But trouble ain’t far away. Margaux Needler, a shady TV personality, wants to sell all the houses in the neighborhood, but the Addams’ spooky mansion is standing in her way.

4. Casper (1995)
Casper is a young ghost with a kind (ghost) heart. He peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. Casper falls in love when a teenage girl arrives at the mansion with her uncle, who is a specialist and wants to communicate with the spirits.
The situation is complicated because of Casper’s transparent state, and making it even more difficult are his ghost uncles and their antics.
3. Hotel Transylvania 1 (2012)
We all love to spend time at a resort to unwind. So do monsters. Count Dracula’s Hotel Transylvania is a haven for monsters where there are no humans to bother them. One weekend, Dracula invites the Invisible Man, the Mummy, and other monstrous creatures to celebrate the 118th birthday of his young daughter, Mavis.
Things spiral out of hand when a human unintentionally crashes the party and falls in love with Mavis.
2. Monsters Inc. (2001)
One of the best-animated movies released in 2001, Monsters Inc., follows the adventures of two monsters.
James P. Sullivan is one of the top scarers at Monsters Inc., which is the largest scare factory in the monster world. Sullivan’s huge structure and horns make him an intimidating monster. The purple-spotted-blue-furred giant monster has a contrasting scare assistant/best friend/roommate named Mike Wazowski. Mike is an opinionated and feisty monster with green skin and one eye.
The monster world is disturbed when Boo, a tiny human girl, ends up in the scare factory.
1. Coraline (2009)
One of our favorite creepy animated movies is Caroline. A girl named Caroline discovers a secret door while exploring her new home. Behind it is an alternate world that resembles her own, but it’s better in many ways. At first, she is happy with her discovery and enjoys the new world, but things get out of hand when her Other mother and the rest of her alternative family try to keep her with them forever.
Caroline must use all her willpower, resources, and bravery to escape the parallel world and get back to her real family and world.
