If you’re a parent, sometimes you just need your kids to be distracted while you can focus on what you’re doing. The majority of parents want their kids to be distracted while they are driving. However, it will be much more constructive if they use some apps that’ll stimulate their little minds and educate them a little! Here is a handful of super educational iPhone apps for toddlers that are pretty popular among both children and parents:
Parents Flash Cards
This is a fun free app that you can use to stimulate their sense and recognition of letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. It has a very easy-to-understand female voice that gives commands.
What’s cool about this app is that you have the option to buy extra packs that are slightly more challenging when you think they are ready. Some of the packs feature quizzes, math-type games, tracing activities, and more.
Peekaboo Barn
It costs $1.99, but parents are really raving about this one. All your kids have to do is open the barn door to be shown a different animal and the sounds they make. In turn, Peekaboo Barn works to enhance the recognition of animals, teach them the name of the animal, and also how to spell it. What’s really cool is that you can choose between an English or Spanish option.
However, there are more language packs available for you to buy if you need them. If you’re really up to it, you can record your own voice in place of the app’s voice! Parents are saying it works really well to keep them distracted and entertained.
Tozzle
Kids love puzzles, as they keep them entertained for hours. Puzzles are good for kids because they introduce problem-solving and thinking skills. That’s exactly what Tozzle is. The app allows them to drag and drop different shapes, animals, people, and many other objects into their correct cutouts.
Once they’ve figured out the puzzle, they can tap on the shapes or animals to hear all the silly noises they make. There are 42 different puzzles to provide an endless amount of distraction. Love it! This one is not free, however. It’ll only cost you a couple of bucks.
The Little Red Hen
This app is a storybook that is drawn really well. You have the choice of reading the storybook yourself to your child or you can have the app read the story for you! It comes in English, Spanish, and Cantonese.
Your kids can also touch the animals and objects to hear what they sound like, which every kid loves. Storybooks on tablets or smartphones are a lot more stimulating than your normal storybook and this one excels pretty well. It only costs you a buck.
Bumblebee Touchbook
Here is another storybook-like app that helps more with word recognition. As your child is carried through the animated stories that the app provides, they can touch the words to have them read aloud to them. The storybook also works to help them learn how to count with different activities.
In a lot of the comments left by parents, their kids really just enjoy the cute story that comes along with it. This app will also only cost you a dollar.
