The never ending war between smartphones continues in 2012 as the upcoming smart phones fight for the ultimate pride. The Samsung Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, HTC one X, Nokia Lumia 900, LG Optimus 4X HD and Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX will be fighting in 2012 for the best smartphone crown.

Samsung Galaxy S3

Speculations about the Samsung Galaxy S3‘s specification are already circulating in the technology world. According to the reports the Korean giant  is expected to launch the next generation Android Smartphone at the end of March or in the start of April (as reported by TechRadar). Samsung is promising that the Galaxy S3 will surely keep the legacy of the last Android king, the Samsung Galaxy S2. Rumors are out that the upcoming Android phone will be having:

  • Quad-core 1.8 GHz Exynos 4212/Exyos 5250 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • storage capacity of 16GB and 32 GB
  • microSD slot for the optional memory.
  • 4.6 inch HD screen with a 1280×720 pixels Super AMOLED Plus display
  • capacitive touch-screen at 319ppi pixel density

The operating system would be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Rear camera will be 12 megapixel, having features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, and image stabilization features. The 2 megapixel front facing camera will definitely put the video calling to a limit. The Galaxy S3 is expected to have an 8.5 mm super thin design.

iPhone 5

Apple’s next generation iPhone is expected to be out in the last quarter of 2012. The specification for the iPhone 5 says that it will be occupying a tear drop design. The iPhone 5 will be having a smaller 3.7 to 4-inch Quantum Dot LED curved glass, edge-to-edge display. Resolution of the screen will be a bit higher (1280×720) HD and the pixel density would be 367 ppi. iPhone 5 will likely sport a little slower 1.2-1.5 GHz Quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. iPhone 5 will run on the latest iOS 5.1 and camera would be 12 Mega Pixels.

Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia has just recently launched the high end smartphones, the Lumia series. The newest member of the series is Lumia 900. Nokia Lumia 900 is having an iconic design, which is beautiful and powerful enough to compete with the upcoming Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 which are known for their performance and design.

The lumia 900 will be having a bright 4.3-inch AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel rear-camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, 480 x 800 pixels display, an F2.2 aperture with a 28mm focal length and 1.4GHz processor. This smartphone would be running on the Microsoft Windows 7.5 Mango OS. Remember the Nokia Lumia 900 has also won the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012.

LG Optimus 4X HD

With a 4.7 inch true HD screen, a resolution of (1280×720), Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 16 GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, Nvidia Tegra 3, 1.5 GHz Quad-core processor and a camera of 8 megapixels, the LG Optimus 4X HD will be providing a true challenge for the other smartphone manufacturers.

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX

The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX is having a powerful 1.2 GHz dual core processor and a 4.3 inches super AMOLED screen with a 960 x 540 resolution. Moreover an exciting 8 megapixel camera is making the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX a noticeable participant in the war of smartphones.

HTC one X

HTC One X is coming up with a 4.7-inch (720 X 1280 pixels) Super IPS LCD2 capacitive multi touch screen display with 312 pixels per inch pixel density and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. 1.5 GHz quad-core chip is just a boost of performance for the smartphone. With a 12 Megapixel (4000×3000 pixels) rear camera it is capable of 1080p video recording. The front facing camera sports 2 Megapixels. Thickness of the phone is equal to the Samsung Galaxy S3’s 8.9mm.
