First Mainstream Android Tablet From Samsung Gets A Makeover

Those who bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 nearly have their upgrade available. It is now 7.7 inches of digital real estate, but with a much better screen. Get a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 here in this quick article:

The Screen Is First Class

Samsung has been at work upgrading their first popular tablet to this new 7.7 inch model with the same name. It is the first tablet in the world to have a bright Super AMOLED screen. This is like going from Volkswagen to Porshe in the automotive realm. Comparing this screen with other tablets makes them look dull and boring. The display is surrounded by a metal exterior with rounded edges. It looks good and performs even better.

The AMOLED material uses less energy than the older LCD and therefore the battery will last longer than on older tablets. Touchwiz is the familiar user interface for the Tab 7.7 and gives a better experience than OEM android. The display is covered with “Gorilla Glass”, a Corning invention, from way back in the 1960s. It is much stronger than regular glass.

This Samsung Tablet Comes With Plenty Of Battery Backup

Samsung gave the Tab 7.7 a large battery for up to ten hours of video. The battery weighs in at 5,100 mAh of power. The heart of this tablet is a dual core Cortex A9 processor, good for zooming around the menus. But the chip is hampered by weak cameras, otherwise this tablet could take high definition video in at least the 1080p format.

The chip is accompanied by the user’s choice of 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of internal memory. A typical one gigabyte of RAM helps to keep things up to speed.

The Cameras Are There, But Are Second-Rate

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet has two cameras. They are not ample or powerful, but they do have a moderate list of features. The list includes auto focus, LED flash and geo tagging.

As mentioned, the back camera is not that powerful at 3.15 megapixels. The front camera is rated for two megapixels. If a user is concerned about privacy or security, the geo tagging function can be turned off in the menus of the Tab.

Android Is Running The Show

Android is contained in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet, but not in the most modern version. The latest version, Ice Cream Sandwich, is due to be installed or updated to this tablet. This tablet is able to make phone calls, as it can hook up to 2g and 3G networks.
