Nintendo has said in a press release that they are to launch the second installment of the Wii Gaming Systems/Consoles in 2012. All the technical information about the Console shall be released in the Los Angeles E3 Expo in June.
Nintendo intends not to release any news about the Console before the E3 Expo. The first Wii console was a worldwide hit after its release 5 years ago. But Nintendo has lost a lot of ground since then in the Console business due to the release of Sony PlayStation Move and Microsoft XBOX Kinect Devices and other mobile platforms.
Wii was the first and only Console of the current generation that provided motion-controlled gameplay that was the major reason which made it a household Gaming console in the recent past.
Nintendo’s chief executive, Satoru Iwata suggested that his company was preparing a fresh innovation and said:
“It will offer a new way of playing games within the home.”
