Nearly four weeks ago, we reported about the sports brand Nike’s release of its iPhone app for runners. With GPS included, it was aimed at helping runners to stay fit and motivated. Today news has come about a new version 2.0 which offers Facebook support, allowing runner’s friends to encourage them on their way as they pound the pavements in the name of getting fit.
The tweaked app now offers a new feature dubbed Facebook “Cheer Me On” which ups the motivational factor. Runners simply activate the ‘Get Cheers’ option during their jog to post a profile update reading:
“Cheer me on with a comment and I’ll get it on the run.”
During the whole exercise session, users can view all comments and likes from their friends who respond to the said entry above. With the help of version 2.0, users can now enjoy another feature dubbed as “One More PowerSong”, which is hoped to give users that extra push to beat their past running records by running the duration of one more song.
