The 56-year-old comedian Rowan Atkinson popular for his character “Mr. Bean”, has left a hospital on Friday after being treated for minor injuries following a sports car crash in southern England.
According to the British authorities, Rowan Atkinson was driving his McLaren F1 supercar, which is one of the world’s fastest road cars, this Thursday and struck a tree followed by a collision with a lamp post. The vehicle as a result of these collisions caught fire immediately.
It was declared by the firefighters that Atkinson hadn’t been trapped inside the car and was lucky that he didn’t get hurt much. He was able to walk away from the burning vehicle and flag down other motorists for help.
This accident happened near Haddon, a village about 85 miles (140 kilometers) north of London.
After his injury treatment, Atkinson left Peterborough City Hospital with four security guards on Friday afternoon but made no comment to reporters.
Though the police did not mention that Atkinson had been speeding and said:
“Atkinson was given a routine breathalyzer test at the scene and will face no criminal charges.”
The actor’s McLaren F1 car has a top speed of 230 mph (370 kph) and costs around $1.94 million.
