As reported by HollywoodReporter, Miss Venezuela Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colimenares, took home the crown for Miss World 2011 at a glittering final ceremony held in London on Sunday. The 22-year-old Ivian Sarcos beat out contestants from 122 countries to claim the crown. She was crowned the 61st Miss World with Miss Philippines Gwendoline Ruais as the 1st runner up and Miss Puerto Rico Amanda Perez, the 2nd runner up.
After winning she said:
“Winning means everything to me and I hope to take advantage of being a winner in a productive manner. I’m unbelievably happy to have won and there are some incredible girls. I first and foremost want to help people in need. I would like to help people like me. I am an orphan. I would also like to help the elderly and troubled teenagers. As many people as I can.”
Ivian Sarcos, currently works for a broadcasting company and has a degree in human resources. Her hobbies include volleyball, mountaineering and trekking.
Some 113 beauty queens across the World took their place on the stage and the show was shown live to an estimated audience of more than one billion viewers in 150 countries.
