Meet the Founders of LoginRadius.com

LoginRadius was founded in 2012 and has grown rapidly to power social login on over 100,000 websites in 190 countries. They have had the honor of being named one of Canada’s Top 50 Startups by TechVibes. They are partnered with Google, Amazon, Mozilla, and Microsoft and are funded by amazing venture capitalists: The Accelerate Fund, BDC, Real Ventures, and Yaletown Venture Partners.

LoginRadius offers a complete social infrastructure solution combining 30 major social platforms into one unified API. With LoginRadius, websites and mobile apps can integrate social login, enable social sharing, capture user-profiles, and social data, create a single sign-on experience for their users, and get comprehensive social analytics. Our social solution helps websites engage, understand, and leverage their users.

We recently came across a great opportunity to briefly interview the founders of LoginRadius and here’s what they had to say:

 

1. Rakesh and Deepak, what’s your story?

LoginRadius was co-founded by myself, Rakesh Soni, and Deepak Gupta. We met in grade school in Jaipur, India and stayed in close contact when we pursued higher education. We both received Bachelors of Engineering from Indian universities; Deepak from Rajasthan University and myself from the Indian School of Mines.

Deepak went to America and completed his MS from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and worked as a software engineer for 4 years. Rakesh completed his MS from the University of Alberta, Canada, and worked as an engineer for 3 years before founding LoginRadius.

We have always been interested in innovation and leadership, and we weren’t able to experience that in our typical 9-5 jobs. We wanted to build something to help people, so we started working together on ideas.

 

2. What inspired the inception of LoginRadius?

Like many good companies, the idea of LoginRadius sparked from frustration. We were working on two other ideas and had launched one of them in the beta phase. We were spending significant resources to bring traffic to the site but found that users were not engaging despite getting some great product feedback.

We looked into best practices for engaging users and came across OpenID and OAuth protocols. After a couple of months’ effort, we built the solution for our sites and decided to use the same code for a second project. And that’s how the idea started of building a SaaS solution for millions of websites, all of which are facing the same challenges.

 

3. What makes LoginRadius unique and what is the most powerful feature of LoginRadius?

The key benefits to LoginRadius are increasing user engagement with social login, increasing referral traffic with social sharing, having the ability to personalize for each user with profile data, and understanding user behaviors through social analytics.

4. What can we expect to see in the near future from LoginRadius?

We plan to continuously improve LoginRadius every day with innovative features and provide users with a solution that is integrated across all web platforms, including smart devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Three to five years from now, we see LoginRadius as a leading player in the field of social media and powering social login on 10 million websites. We would like to capture a majority of the market for social login and social sharing around the globe; our goal is to make the name LoginRadius synonymous with the idea of Social Login itself.

 

5. What major challenges did you overcome while launching LoginRadius?

I’d say finding the right fit for our product in the market was the biggest challenge. For the first year, we were primarily focusing on product development and customer relations and not successfully demonstrating that we can build a large customer base.

 

6. How has LoginRadius been received so far by users?

It has been received great! We have grown a decent following and have helped many websites increase conversions on their websites, which is a great feeling.

 

7. Where is LoginRadius most popular?

We have customers all over the world! We are very popular in the USA, Australia, and the UK to name a few, but we currently have customers in over 190 countries so we are very global!

 

8. What is the team size of LoginRadius?

We currently have around 30 employees in Edmonton, Canada; Jaipur, India; Sunnyvale, California; Montreal, Canada; and North Carolina, USA.

 

9. Who should join the LoginRadius team?

LoginRadius has a great startup atmosphere! We are always looking for hardworking, talented people and have openings for salespeople, a sales director, marketing specialists, and developers.

11. What would you like to say to all the aspiring young entrepreneurs out there?

It is important to have an amazing product and find a fit for it in the market, everything else will follow. Having an innovative product that will add value to your customers is what will make a company successful.
