After the end of the F8 conference and the introduction of a number of new features by Facebook including the innovative Facebook Timeline, a rumor quickly surfaced over the web that Facebook will soon charge a fee for the service. The rumor got viral and hundreds and thousands of people started spreading it via Twitter and Facebook‘s status updates.
Just search the following sentence in Facebook’s search:
“FACEBOOK JUST RELEASED THEIR PRICE GRID“
The rumor is completely baseless and luckily Facebook itself has responded with these crystal clear words:
“A rumor on the internet caught our attention. We have no plans to charge for Facebook. It’s free and always will be.”
People who initiate these rumor fail to realize that the 800 million-member Facebook is making billions in revenue each year and is expected to have an IPO of $100 billion next year.
Now relax and take a chill pill no one’s gonna charge you for Facebook-ing!
