It’s a ten-player battle game which divides the players into two teams with the objective of destroying each other’s Ancient – a large fortress-like building in the middle of the each team’s area – in a course of one hour.
Each player has special abilities and powers and must use technical strategies in order to score a victory.
Upon its release, the game quickly gained a large fan following as it began featuring at several worldwide tournaments.
The game takes the player to a whole new level of thinking while coming up with various plans, smart maneuvers, quick actions, and even quicker reflexes to destroy the enemy’s ancient.
After its much success, Valve Corporation started to work on a stand-alone sequel titled Dota 2.
