Certainly a debate that needs no introduction. The two companies (The Coca-Cola Company and The PepsiCo Incorporated) have been rivals since the 1890s. When it comes to the much-publicized debate Coke Vs Pepsi, one must figure out which drink is better? Is it the taste? No doubt the two are quite similar in taste but that cannot deny the fact that the two are still very different from each other.
Coca-Cola is quite carbonated as compared to Pepsi, whereas the later contains too much sugar in it – thus the sweet taste. Investigating the global market, Coca-Cola is slightly more purchased than Pepsi but not on a wide scale. On several occasions, the sales of both companies are surprisingly even.
Is this possible due to the fact that many people can’t even figure out the taste difference between the two soft-drinks? Whatever the case might be, Coca-Cola has, on a number of occasions, been more successful than Pepsi.
During the 2010 Cola Wars, Pepsi got knocked down to third place behind Coca-Cola and Diet Coke. Coca-Cola sold 1.6 billion cases; Diet Coke sold 927 million cases whereas Pepsi managed to reach a figure of 892 only. Whatever the outcome may be, Pepsi does not remain much behind Coca-Cola but it is later that takes the lead.
