Amy Whinehouse, 27 who had her claim to fame due to her famous song “Rehab” was found dead in her London flat today at 4 P.M GMT. According to various sources the emergency services are reported to have rushed to her flat at 3:54 P.M, after they got reports of a deceased woman.In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said:
‘Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.‘
The Metropolitan Police added.
‘On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.’
So until now the cause of her death is unknown, but is possibly being attributed to her drugs and mental issues she has been facing recently, but it is early to be clear on that point.
It was 2006’s Back to Black which brought her worldwide fame, winning five Grammy Awards. But it was her song “Rehab”, which actually brought her into news. Recently she cancelled her European tour due to unknown reason, the tour definitely was her failed attempt to be back in the music industry after the recent health and mental lapses she faced.
Born in 1983 to taxi driver Mitch Winehouse and his pharmacist wife Janis, Winehouse grew up in the north London suburbs, and was set on a showbiz career from an early age. After stardom due to her unique style came problems.
She was a troubled person, she had legal,health and other problems. But that didnot make her from being famous and remaining in the news, reportedly The Sunday Times newspaper’s annual Rich List estimated her wealth at $20 million in May.
Her fans are shocked on her death, even similar comments have come from Britian’s First Lady. Tributes to the singer have been appearing on Twitter and elsewhere. Miss Winehouse has joined a long list of singers and musicians who died at the age of 27, including Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison of the Doors.
