At the CES 2012, Asus revealed its revolutionary Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF 700 in the running series of its Asus Eee Pad. Asus aims to rule the tablet market with its unique and simple tablets in 2012 and judging from its recent additions we hope that it will take the market soon. In the year 2011, Asus released two major products in the Eee Pad collection one of which was the TF 101 which had somewhat similar features to the Apple iPad 2.
Asus had its edge over the others due to its transformer factor which includes a docking station to convert it into a handy Netbook with a sleek keyboard, USB ports, micro SD card slot and most importantly extra battery life. Then we had the TF 201 with Nvidia Tegra 2 Quad Core Processor and Android 3.0 which made the competition even harder for Apple and other Android manufacturers. Just imagine a Quad Core in a Tablet, that would be something really powerful! Also the TF 210 had a 1200 x 800 pixel display which had the support for 720p video playback.
Now this year Asus TF 700 was presented in the CES 2012 and was awarded “The Best Tablet of The Year”.
It features Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core Processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1080p full HD display, and a better back cover for good GPS reception.
The most revolutionary fact is having a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels which will set a milestone in the Tablet market. We hope that the 1080p display will be the benchmark for the tablet world after the release of TF 700 series in Q2 2012.
Another major modification in the Transformer Prime is the back cover. Users were having a lot of problems related to the GPS of the tablet. Asus on the other hand claims the problem in GPS was due to the Back Alluminium Cover which caused bad reception. But with the release of TF 700, they have changed the back cover design completely for better reception.
There were many andrioid based tablet’s presented at the CES 2012 but the Eee Pad seemed to be the most elegant and well built. The main competition that Eee pad had was the Acer Iconia Tab A700. The Acer Tablet does have the similar specs as the Transformer but in looks it took a lot of beating due to its awkward design.
Here is a nice video made by ASUS, it’ll let you understand the Transformer Prime better!
