2012 was a really big year for books. With devices like the Kindle, eBooks, and the Nook making reading extremely convenient, more and more people are reading. According to Amazon’s list of best selling books of 2012, here’s what most people read last year.
1. Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three
Written by E. L. James, this book tops the list. These erotic novels took the world by storm last year, so it’s no surprise that they are at a solid number one on the best seller list.
2. Gone Girl: A Novel
Coming in second place is the novel by Gillian Flynn. This book about a marriage gone wrong is a great, suspenseful read. Its shocking moments ensure a great read for even those who don’t read a lot of works of suspense.
3. Fifty Shades Trilogy: 3-Volume Boxed Set
This set by E. L. James comes in third on the best seller list. Readers can’t get enough of the Fifty Shades books, because while this comes in at number three, the third book in the trilogy is top seller for the year.
4. Bared to You: A Crossfire Novel
This novel by Sylvia Day comes in at number four. Bared to You is a romantic and erotic novel, proving that in 2012, readers couldn’t get enough of romantic novels.
Make sure to read this one – another Crossfire novel comes in later on this list, showing the readers’ love for Sylvia Day.
5. No Easy Day: The First hand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden
Number five is by Mark Owen; this book takes a dramatic turn from the previous books on this list – it’s the mission that killed Bin Laden from a Navy SEAL’s perspective.
6. The Marriage Bargain (Marriage to a Billionaire)
Jennifer Probs is the author of this romance novel. This one has a bit of a fantastical element to it; the main character casts a love spell to get the man of her dreams.

In a way only John Grisham can, the book combines suspense and politics flawlessly.
9. Defending Jacob: A Novel
This novel by William Landay is a great read as well. Similar in style to Grisham, this book combines suspense and politics in an exciting way that’s sure to keep your interest as the story progresses.

10. The Innocent
The final book on the list is by David Baldacci. This book is an exciting read whose main character is a hitman for the government.
