Pakistan Makes Guinness World Record For Most People Singing National Anthem Simultaneously

5,885 Pakistanis on Saturday midnight, in order to express their affection for the country, simultaneously sang the national anthem of Pakistan to register a new Guinness World Record for the most number of people singing a national anthem together.
The event was held at the Defence Stadium in Karachi where 5,885 Karachiites showed up and participated in the event to beat the previous record of 5,248 people, set by Philippines on 1 September 2009.
Although 104,637 people sang ‘Vande Mataram’ on January 12, 2010 in India but there exists some confusion as “Vande Mataram” is not the actual national anthem of India. The officials of Guinness World Record are yet to shed some light on this issue.
As with the event as soon as the clock struck 12, everyone started singing the national anthem “Pak Sar Zameen” to mark Pakistan’s 64th independence day and the new world record.
